A word on Keala the painter ?

Ha! I wouldn't call myself a painter. I do "board art" with spray paint and stencils. It's a fun way for me to personalize my boards and I have found if one of my boards has a particularly awesome paint job it seems to go better in the surf (laughs).

You painted some boards with aerosol bombs any graffiti influences ?

I do love street art and have friends that have done "pieces". Some of the graffiti artists are so talented, I love seeing what people come up with.

Anything serious in this art or some designs with billabong kinda kk séries ?

Nothing too serious. Well there is a girl holding a smoking gun... but most of my art is just meant to be fun and colorful.

Let's talk about Keala Kennelly the actress, is that your new job ?

Unemployed actress is my new job (laughs).

Thank god Billabong pays me to surf! Otherwise I would be just another starving actor.

Would you like to get a role in hollywood ?

Of course! The few Hollywood roles I have had in "Blue Crush" and "John From Cincinnati" were very fun and rewarding. I enjoyed working on those very much.

If you where a movie hero which one it be ?

Some badass chick like Aeon Flux or Trinity from "The Matrix".

Futurs project in movie ?

I am hoping to get something on Hawaii 5-0 since they film here in Oahu.

Tell me about your tv shows.

I was a Season Regular on the HBO TV Series "John From Cincinnati" created by David Milch. I played a character named Kai who surfs, shapes boards and works in my love interests parent's surf shop.

Dj Keala Kennelly, since when did you practice dj ?

It's been a hobby of mine since my early 20's when I started going to clubs.

Who inspire you ?

My favorite DJ of all time is Danny Tenaglia. I used to go see him at Vinyl in NYC.

I also love Cevin Fisher, Marquez Wyatt, Erick Morillo, Chus & Ceballos, Mark Knight, MAW and Silvano Da Silva,

How do you buy your music ?

I search artists I like and then find tracks that have been remixed by other artists. Then I search those artists and they lead me to different artists.

I can get sucked into a music hole for hours sometimes!

How do you define your style ?

I am a house DJ. I like beats and drums (nothing too electronic). Deep House, Tribal House, Latin House.

Anything that gets the dance floor pumping.

Any big project with music ?

I might be DJing at a big music festival in France this summer it would be for the Groundswell Music Festival.

With all those passion where do you actually live ? Any boyfriend?

I live in Oahu, Hawaii. There are some of the best waves in the world in the N. Shore and Honolulu has just enough city for me that I don't get crazy with island fever.
