Freaksurf Mag : When did you start surfing and why, because surfing is not the main sport in the US ?

Brett Simpson : Didn't start till I was 12 years old, I played most sports when I was young and then just got addicted to surfing!

Everybody is going to ride smaller board. What is your opinion about that?

I personally don't think they look that great, u kinda loose style and flow in my mind, but I'm just stickin ta what i do!!

Are you going to focus on special events?

Definatly the 6 stars and the primes! I need to succeed in those ones ta have a big year!

Tell us about your sponsors ?

Yea, there great surfers, but competition is tough on the QS, you have to get sime breaks here and there, talent only goes so far!

How do you feel for this year on QS?

Number 1

Tell us about the California surf scene and San Clemente surf scene?

It's great, so many surfers, it's crazy! Great for the sport though, everyones very supportive of surfing!

Who inspire you the most ?

My family, they're very competive and push me to be my best!

Why most atypic surfers come from this scene, Richie Collins, Archy, Beshen, Wardo, Timmy Curran, Fletchers or Dane Reynolds?

They all have helped the sport im many different ways, its hard to say ones done more!!

Now a word on your favourite ...

Spot I just surf what I'm givin, it doesn't really matter to me!

Wave Anywhere I guess, I like surfing all different conditons or else i get bored!

Manovers Airs for sure, just lots of adrenline when ur flying high!

FSM : Do you practise other sports?

BS : Always, I'm fallin more in love with basketball everyday.

Tell us about your young career and your favourite victories or title.

My most recent victory at the Katin Team comp was really nice, lot of great surfers and the waves were prefect at home!

The WQS was really interested and difficult last year, the decision was made on the last event?

Yea, didn't have that great of a start and started to come on in the back half but was a little too late!

You were almost qualified for the Dream Tour what did you miss?

Couple heats here and there or i guess u could say a victory!!

Of course your goal is to qualify for the dream tour this year, what have you change for this year, preparation, mental, boards ?

Yea, I definitely know what I need to do now! Get my equipment ready and be phisically fit and stay confident!

Are we going to see you in a video this year or will you focus on the WQS?

Mostly on the QS, but get some footage here and there for sure.

The QS gonna be much more interested even this year with the arrival of the young guns such as OWEN WRIGHT, DUSTY PAYNE, and the other young guys such as JADSON ANDRE who was almost qualified last year, what do you think about that?
