2011 ASP World Tour qualifier Julian Wilson has signed an exclusive deal with Nike 6.0. The deal -- hands down one of the biggest surfing's ever seen -- is a 5-year agreement worth somewhere in the neighborhood of $1,000,000 a year, and will see Wilson garbed in Nike 6.0 apparel, footwear and wetsuits.
"I'm really excited about the move," said Julian Wilson from his home on Australia's Sunshine Coast. "With where I'm at in my career right now, it seemed like the right time to make a transition and an excellent opportunity! Nike has been pushing the direction of the sport of late and I'm really eager to be part of that movement."
In 2009 Nike 6.0 added Kolohe Andino and Carissa Moore to their roster, and most recently upped the respective deals of 2009 World Junior Champ Kai Barger and 2011 Women's ASP World Tour rookie Laura Enever. They've also committed a wealth of resources to the Nike 6.0 Lowers Pro, the Hurley U.S. Open of Surfing and the Hurley Lowers Pro. But Wilson's deal, simply put, it's a whole new level. Undoubtedly it will raise the bar for top tier surf contracts in the future.

What upcoming contest or trip are you looking forward to?
Really excited about my first WT event at Snapper
When did you know that you could make it as a professional surfer?
Probably when I was 17 and I beat Kelly Slater as a wildcard for the first time at the Quiksilver Pro.
If someone walked into your room right now, what would they notice first?
Probably that I wasn’t there because I’m traveling so much.
If you could turn pro in another sport, which would it be?
Golf or Skateboarding.

Trestles
You’ve got two weeks and your own private jet, where do you go and with whom?
Actually I would probably just hang out in the jet with my friends! But if we had to fly anywhere the first stop would be Indo.
Music getting the most play lately?
Eminem
Describe a perfect day?
Surf perfect Trestles in the morning. Golf Augusta National. Then surf perfect Trestles again in the evening. Finish it off with a nice Japanese dinner.
If someone was auditioning to go on a surf trip with you, what would you look for?
Definitely someone who shares waves, has a sense of humor and is able to have a beer!
Last Time you were shit scared?
Watching Pipe Masters with my tour qualification on the line.
Last time you were stoked beyond believe?
When I qualified for the Tour. Oh, and of course my move to Nike.
