10 questions with aussie Parrish Byrne by Freaksurf Mag

Young aussie rider Parrish Byrne comes back from a 3 months injury, and what a come back. First WQS event and it's a victory at the Billabong Tsurigasi Pro Japan. We decided to catch him on the O'Neill Cold Water Classic Canada on Tofino to have his feelings on this Cold Water Classic's adventure in Bear's country.

Freaksurf Mag : Hey mate, congratulation for your victory at the Tsurigasaki pro Japan, can you give us a few words on that event ?

Parrish Byrne : Yeh it was a really fun event, the waves were actually really fun, it was my first event back from injury. I fractured and tore ligaments in my ankle in may which kept me out of the water for 3 months so to come back with a win first contest was a dream coming true.

FSM : So, it was boardshort outhere, now it's big wetsuit in Canada, how do you live the transition to cold water ?

PB : Yeh it isn't too bad, definatly the coldest water i've ever been in, it's a bit hard surfing in a 4/3 boots gloves and a hood but you do get use to it.

FSM : What do you think about those O'Neill Cold Water series ?

PB : I think it's a really good concept every little venue is like an adventure the guys on tour really look forward to every event.

FSM : How do you feel in Canada ?

PB : Yeh i feel really good just trying to carry the momentum from Japan but i feel good surfing, good boards, everything is feeling great, ready to compete.

FSM : Is it hard to surf in such conditions ?

PB : No the waves up here have been really really fun better than I expected.

FSM : How is the relationship between riders in such an event ?

PB : I think everyone is a lot happier and positive, it isn't just the same old boring comp, like i said, an adventure!!

FSM : What is the most impressive in this event ?

PB : The waves up here there really fun better than I expected!

FSM : What are the good and bad in such event ?

PB : The bad would be the cold haha but the good would be how beautiful each location is.

FSM : Do you make the whole CWC series ?

PB : No I only did Tasmania but then, was out for the rest due to my injury.

FSM : In Australia there are sharks attacks, here are Bears attacks take care mate !

PB : Hahaha I'm yet to see a bear but I'm looking forward to seeing some for sure!!!!
